NEW ORLEANS - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association honored four University of Idaho men's track and field athletes on Thursday with inclusion on the 2010 Division I All-Academic teams.

Senior James Rogan, juniors Paul Dittmer and Eugenio Mannucci and sophomore Jeremy Klas were the Vandals selected to the team, which honors student-athletes with a minimum 3.25 grade point average and an NCAA qualifying mark either during the indoor or outdoor season.

Rogan, the only two-time NCAA qualifier in the hammer throw in Idaho history, is a two-time Western Athletic Conference champion and an 11-time all-WAC honoree. He was also a USTFCCCA All-Academic selection in 2008 and 2009, as well as a 2010 CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Second-Team Academic All-American.

Rogan graduated in May with degrees in Justice Studies and Sociology and a 3.68 GPA and will begin law school in 2010.

Dittmer is a three-time WAC champion in the 110m hurdles and a 2009 NCAA Outdoor Championships semifinalist in the event. He holds the Idaho school record in the 60m hurdles and has six all-WAC honors to his name, as well as the 2008 WAC Outdoor Freshman of the Year award. He was honored with the USTFCCCA honor for the second year in a row. He is a General Studies major with a 3.85 GPA.

Klas earns the honor for the second year in a row. The sophomore made Idaho history in 2010 by becoming the first Idaho man to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the pole vault, where he finished ninth to earn All-America honors for the first time in his career. He also qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships, where he took 16th. He finished the 2010 season as the Idaho school record holder in both the indoor and outdoor pole vault. He is a Secondary Education major with a 3.47 GPA.

Mannucci earns the honor for the first time in his career. He qualified for his first career NCAA Outdoor Championship meet in 2010 and finished 21st in the shot put. He was the WAC runner-up in the event both indoors and outdoors and was the champion at the 2009 WAC Outdoor Championships. He is a Animal and Veterinary Science major with a 3.81 GPA.

Idaho's four selections to the team made up half the WAC's contingent. Utah State had the other four student-athletes on the list. A record total of 357 male student-athletes were honored with the award by the USTFCCCA in 2010. Idaho men's track and field athletes have been honored with the USTFCCCA Division I All-Academic award nine times since 2007.
