MOSCOW - The University of Idaho will be host to the United States Tennis Associaton/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Campus Showdown, an event where all levels of players - including adult open, college, and junior players - will compete against each other. The Campus Showdown will be held Sunday, Sept. 12 at the Vandal tennis courts outside of Memorial Gym and members from both Idaho's men's and women's tennis teams will participate.
"This will be a great early year event for our players and we have several strong open male and female junior players signed up," Idaho Director of Tennis Jeff Beaman said.
The event will allow US junior players to experience affordable and competitive tennis and get exposure to college campuses and college tennis while being compliant with NCAA rules.
The Vandals will stay in action this fall with the men's team splitting between the Baylor Invitational in Waco, Texas and the Gonzaga/Eastern Washington Fall Tournament from Sept. 24-26, while the women's team will compete at the Cougar Classic in Pullman that same weekend.
