New for 2013!

University of Idaho football fans will be treated to a state-of-the-art video board when the Vandals kick off 2013 home season against Northern Illinois on Sept. 14.

The video portion of the new YESCO board will measure 30 feet by 50 feet, which provides 1,500 square feet of video imaging. With a 19-bit video processing capability, the board has the ability to produce 4.4 trillion colors with a 15 mm pixel display to provide the highest quality resolution.

“We are excited about the partnerships we have developed, which enabled us to provide this dynamic addition to our game day experience and atmosphere,” Director of Athletics Rob Spear said. “Not only will we be able to deliver the highest quality video of game action and replays, but our fans can join the fun with interactive promotions.”

Lead partners on the project are the Idaho Potato Commission as well as Blue Cross of Idaho and Commercial Tire. The cost of the fixed board, its supporting software and installation is $787,321, all of which is being funded through private monies.

Installation of the new video board on the East End wall and relocation of the existing video board to the West End wall begins June 10 and will be complete by the first week of August.
