Seattle, Wash. – The Vandals wrapped up a two day weekend meet at the University of Washington which began yesterday on Friday and finished in the evening today. Idaho saw several quality performances from individual athletes amongst stiff competition.
Idaho's Kinsey Gomez competed in the women's 1 mile, finishing 5th in her section at a time of 4:52.43 while fellow Vandal Ally Ginther finished 7th in her section at a time of 5:01.30.
In field events, Idaho's Kolcie Bates finished first in her flight of the women's shot put with a mark of 12.61m while teammate Faith Eruwa took 8th in her flight in the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.37m.
On the men's side, senior Ben Ayesu-Attah again made a noticeable impact for the Vandals, as he finished 3rd overall in the Men's 400m at a time of 47.76 narrowly being edged as the winner of the event ran a 47.45. True freshman Kaizer Gillispie also ran the 400m, finishing 2nd in his heat at a time of 50.07.
Idaho's Tim Delcourt finished 9th in his section of the men's 3000m at a time of 8:26.77 while in the men's high jump teammate Dusan Jevtic finished tied for first in his flight at a leap of 2.01m earning him 3rd place overall, tied with seven other athletes.
Senior Matt Sullivan finished 5th in Flight 3 of the men's pole vault with a vault of 5.23m.
With the regular season finished for indoor, the 2016 Big Sky Indoor Championships begin Thursday, Feb. 25, stretching until Saturday, Feb. 27 in Bozeman, Montana. For pre-coverage of the meet and full recaps each day check back with govandals.com.
