Final Road Trip

MOSCOW, Idaho – The Vandals will look to take care of business in their final road trip of the season, beginning at Portland State on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m.

MATCHUP – Idaho (16-10, 8-5 BSC) is 12-11 all-time against Portland State (8-15, 4-8 BSC), including a 56-55 win over the Vikings in late January.  Idaho currently sits alone in fifth in the Big Sky, one half game out of the fourth seed and an automatic bye in the Big Sky Championships.

LAST TIME OUT – The Vandals defeated North Dakota, 65-64, on Saturday.  Idaho took the lead midway through the second half and held on for the remainder, not missing a field goal over the final 11-plus minutes.  Chris Sarbaugh flirted with a triple-double, finishing with eight points, nine boards and seven assists.

WELCOME BACK, P – Perrion Callandret returned to the lineup against North Dakota after missing the previous nine games due to a sprained foot.  The junior made an immediate impact, scoring nine points and grabbing four rebounds.  Callandret was averaging better than 14 points per game prior to his injury.

EVERY DAY COUNTS – Idaho is 5-1 in Big Sky play on Thursdays, but just 3-4 on Saturdays.  Interestingly, Idaho's Thursday opponents have a higher overall conference winning percentage than Idaho's Saturday opponents.

INJURY BUG – Idaho is without leading scorer Victor Sanders for the next few games while he recovers from a broken hand.  The Vandals will also likely be without starting big man Ty Egbert, as he continues to recover from a sprained ankle suffered in practice.

BIG SKY PLAY – Idaho is 8-5 so far in the Big Sky, with its first three games taking place on the road.  Only one other Big Sky team opened play with three straight on the road, with Sacramento State going 0-3.  Idaho went 2-1 during the road stretch.  The Vandals close out the regular season with five over their last seven at home (2-0 so far).
