Vandals fourth

HOUSTON, Texas - The University of Idaho women's swimming and diving team is fourth with one day remaining in the Western Athletic Conference meet.

Vivian Crow was seventh in the 200 IM and Emily Kliewer won the B final.

"This is the fun stuff, ' coach Mark Sowan said. " There are fewer than 30 points separating second and fifth going into the last day.  NAU is having a great meet but that second spot is up for grabs.  This is what college athletics is all about.

“We had our best night so far.  Our 400 IM's were good, scoring three in the B final.  Tori had a break-out swim for fifth which was a big lift for us.  The 100 flys were a blast.  Two freshmen going 3-4 was awesome.  Vivian and Emily had unbelievable finishes in a very close race.  We had three freshmen in the B final of the 200 free with Aileen having her best swim as a Vandal to win the consolation final.

"Our 100 breast continued to be solid.  Faith had a nice on in the B final and Cara had her best 100 as  Vandal for 5th. Our 100 backs were good.   Allie had a solid performance in consols while Tori put together a great night with another tough swim for fifth."

The Vandals are fourth at 308 with NAU leading with 546.5. New Mexico State is second with 337 followed by Cal State  Bakersfield at 324.
