Big Sky Honors Three

RENO, Nev.—Three Vandals earned postseason recognition from the Big Sky Conference on Sunday. Senior Christina Salvatore was voted a First Team All-Conference selection, while senior Ali Forde and sophomore Geraldine McCorkell were named honorable mentions.

Salvatore, an Anaheim, Calif., native, has been the backbone of the 2015-16 Vandal women's basketball team. She averaged 11.9 points in the regular season for the Vandals. Salvatore led the Vandals with 7.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. Her 2.7 3-point field goals made per game rank second in the Big Sky. She has totaled a team-best 79 3-pointers this season, helping her become Idaho's all-time 3-point leader with 323. She has notched four double-doubles on the Road to Reno, totaling 22 games with double figures scoring totals.

Forde, a Woodinville, Wash., native, ranks second in the Big Sky with 2.0 blocks per game. Her 232 career blocks currently rank 14 best amongst active DI players. Forde has totaled seven double-doubles this season, giving her 19 on her career. She scored a career-high 23 points in the Vandals' second meeting against Sacramento State this season. Forde, who averages 9.7 points per game this season, has hit double figure scoring totals in 15 games this year. Forde was named Big Sky Player of the Week on Feb. 23.

McCorkell, a Melbourne, Australia native, leads the Vandals with a career-best 12.3 points per game this season. She set career-highs of 24 points and 12 rebounds in Idaho's 97-65 win over Iowa State. McCorkell was voted to the Cancun Challenge All-Tournament Team as well as being crowned conference Player of the Week. She has set career-highs with 44 3-pointers, 5.6 rebounds per game, 35 assists and 31 blocks.
