RENO, Nev.— Both the Idaho women and men have advanced to the Big Sky Tournament semifinals, taking place on Friday in Reno. The women will tip-off against No. 2 Eastern Washington at 2:35 p.m., whlie the men will take on No. 2 Montana at 8:05 p.m.
“Everyone in on a high,” head women's coach Jon Newlee said after practice on Thursday. “You win a game in the tournament you better be feeling good. The way we won it was crazy as well. Everyone is feeling good and worked hard [at practice].”
About Idaho Women: The Vandals led for a grand total of 1:20 against Weber State in Wednesday's quarterfinal-overtime win.
Taylor Pierce drained a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to advance, 86-83. Freshman
Mikayla Ferenz hit a season-high eight 3's, leading all scorers with 29 points.
About the Opponent: Eastern Washington defeated Sacramento State in a high-scoring 100-97 affair. Hayley Hodgins led the Eagles with 27 points.

About Idaho Men: The Vandals took down local rival Eastern Washington in a thrilling quarterfinal on Thursday night, 77-73.
Nate Sherwood was stellar, scoring a career-high 19 points and grabbing a team-high eight boards.
Pat Ingram was a sparkplug off the bench, scoring a career-high 12 points.
Jordan Scott came up big on the defensive end, blocking EWU's final shot to seal the win.
About the Opponent: Montana entered the tournament as the No. 2 seed after posting a 14-4 record in Big Sky play. Idaho came out victorious in the lone meeting in Missoula, 63-58.
Victor Sanders led the way, scoring 27 points.
