MOSCOW, Idaho – The Vandals had a solid day of performances across the country, competing in a number of meets. Idaho took part in the Stanford Track and Field Invitational, the Montana Duals and the San Francisco State Distance Carnival.
At the Montana Duals, Andrea Pikes earned the win in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.24. The women's 4x100-meter relay team of Lauren Curlanis, Pikes, Nicole Carter and Meghan Palesch took second with a time of 48.95 seconds. Erin Hagen placed second in the 1500-meter run, finishing with a time of 4:39.84. Ally Ginther finished close behind in fifth at 4:43.68.
Kaleala Bass earned second in the 400-meters at 58.81 seconds, a new personal-best. Jenna Phipps took third in the 800-meters at 2:21.89. Kolcie Bates placed fourth in the hammer throw with a toss of 50.39 meters. She also took fourth in the discus.
On the men's side, Drew Schultz placed second in the 1500-meters with a time of 3:59.18, a new PR. Zion Stuffle also took second, in the 400-meter hurdles, at 53.83 seconds, shattering his PR.
Dwain Stucker earned third in the 5000-meters at 15:32.23. Zac Homer and Matthew Pete Bauman took fifth and sixth in the hammer throw, with throws of 48.37 and 48.01 meters, respectively. Juan Medina placed second in both the shot put at 15.72 meters (a personal-best) and the discus throw at 45.87 meters. Jonny Magee earned second in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 6.65 meters.
