SPOKANE, Wash. – Another road trip awaits the Idaho track and field team, but this weekend it's just a short trip up North for the Spokane Memorial Open on Saturday.
The Vandals had a tremendous weekend in Southern California last time out, with several athletes posting Big Sky Championship qualifying marks.
Kinsey Gomez continues to impress, setting a personal-best and the fourth fastest time in program history in the 1500-meters last weekend at 4:22.10. It is the fastest time in the Big Sky this season.
Drew Thompson recorded a career-best score of 6296 points in the decathlon, while Nathan Stark ran the ninth fastest 3000-meter steeplechase time in program history.
Matt Sullivan and Arphaxad Carroll also qualified for the Big Sky Championships, in the pole vault and long jump, respectively.
