MOSCOW, Idaho – University of Idaho coach David Nuhn likes where his team is as the Vandals head into the Big Sky Conference Golf Championship Tournament at Boulder Creek Golf Club at Boulder City, Nev.
“We've been working really hard the last three weeks to begin this push toward our conference championship tournament,” he said. “What we're going to try to do is continue to focus on our scoring strategies – putting, chipping, accuracy off the tee.”

In the past few weeks, Nuhn has seen the re-emergence of the reigning tournament champion. There is a lot to be said of the team's mental approach from playing one shot at a time to recognizing within themselves they have the ability to succeed.
“We need to make the moment not bigger than it is,” said Nuhn, a former Idaho player who took over the program in January. “We just need to go out and play our game of golf”
Nuhn takes a veteran crew – Riley Iacolucci, Daniel Sutton, Ryan Porch, to the tournament. Sutton was last year's Freshman of the Year; all three were all-conference honorees. They're joined this year by Ian Kim and J.T. Scarrow.
The 54-hole, three-day tournament begins Friday and concludes Sunday. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
