Last Chance Meet Up Next

MISSOULA, Mont. – The Idaho track and field team heads out for its final regular season meet on Friday at the Tom Gage Classic, hosted by Montana.

Competition begins at 10 a.m. with the men's hammer throw.  Track events begin at 1 p.m. with the women's steeplechase.  The meet serves as the final chance for athletes to qualify for the upcoming Big Sky Championships.

The Vandals had a solid week last week.  Kinsey Gomez moved into third all-time at Idaho in the 5000-meters, running a personal-best and the fastest time in the Big Sky this season at 16:11.17.  Andrea Pikes also qualified for the Big Sky Championships after posting a PR in the 100-meter dash.

Marguita Palmer qualified for the 800-meter run with a PR of 2:11.53 at the Border Clash in Boise, while Ben Ayesu-Attah qualified in the 200-meters at 21.60 seconds.  Drew Thompson, Idaho's top decathlete, qualified for the 110-meter hurdles.
