Annika Karlsson joins the Vandals in the fall of 2008 after graduating with honors in the natural sciences program of Blackebergs Gymnasium at Ekero, Sweden.

She competed on the Skandia Tour and at the Junior Masters Invitational last season. On the Skandia Tour, she posted three runner-up finishes and was in the top 10 in 10 of the13 events.

"Annika's strengths on the course include driving accuracy and short game," coach Lisa Johnson said. "She has been well-trained in the mental side of the game and is extremely athletic.  In addition to her strong golf resume, she will bring to the team a winning instinct and an ambitious work ethic."

Karlsson is one of two Swedish players as she joins Frida Nilsson on the Idaho roster this fall.

"We are extremely excited to introduce them to the American culture and the Moscow/University of Idaho community," Johnson said.
