Coming Up This Week:
After a 1-1 split last weekend, the Vandal women will stay in the area for this weekend's matches. First, Idaho will host Eastern Washington on Friday at 4 p.m. at Guy Wicks Field, then the Vandals will take a day trip to Spokane to face Gonzaga at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Both games will renew regional rivalries, as Idaho leads the EWU series by a 7-5 margin and GU leads Idaho 6-3-1 in that series.

Eastern Washington
In the 13th match of the series, Idaho will host the Eastern Washington Eagles on Friday at Guy Wicks Field at 4 p.m. The Eagles have claimed five straight victories in the series - all by one-goal margins. EWU enters the weekend with a 2-5 overall record. The Eagles went 0-2 last weekend, with losses to UC-Davis and Cal State-Bakersfield.
For the year, EWU has been outscored by a 15-10 margin and outshot 131-78. The team's leading scorer is junior forward Brittany Sparks, who has four goals this year, including both the team's game-winners. Sophomore forward Whitney Brannan has three goals and two assists and leads the team with 20 shots.
The Eagles have featured a pair of goalkeepers. Freshman Jamie Walker has stopped 22 shots and allowed 11 goals in 381 minutes, while junior keeper Lisa Dimak has 15 stops and three goals allowed in 230 minutes.
Last time these two teams played, it was a frustrating affair for the Vandals. Numerous Idaho shots bounced off the posts and the crossbar and Idaho held an big advantage in possession, but still fell by a 1-0 margin at Cheney.
Gonzaga
Idaho heads to Spokane on Sunday to take on a 3-3 Gonzaga team. The Bulldogs have run a tough road, with wins over Montana, McNeese State and Eastern Washington, and losses to three Pac-10 schools: Washington State, USC and #5 UCLA.
So far this season, the Zags have knocked in eight goals and allowed eight of their own. GU averages 16.2 shots per game, while allowing 11.3 to its opponents. The team will host Seattle on Friday before playing Idaho.
Gonzaga's leading scorer on the year is senior midfielder Lori Conrad, who has three goals and one assist off 12 shots. Gonzaga has featured a multi-faceted attack, as five different GU players have scored a goal and seven have tallied an assist.
Senior Goalkeeper Jesse Thalman has seen a majority of the minutes in goal for Gonzaga. She has started all six games and stopped 21 shots, while allowing seven goals in 450 minutes.
Last time these two teams played, GU took a 3-1 decision in Idaho's 2008 home opener. The Bulldogs scored 44 seconds in and never looked back after going up 3-0 at the half. Idaho won 2-0 last time the two teams played at Spokane.
