After one year as an assistant coach for the Idaho men's tennis team, Daniel Pollock became Idaho's head women's tennis coach in July, 2011.

Pollock helped the Idaho men to a 19-8 record, the program's highest national ranking at No. 46, and Idaho's second straight WAC semifinals appearance in 2010-11 while working under Idaho head coach and 2011 ITA Mountain Region Coach of the Year Jeff Beaman.

Pollock came to Idaho from The University of Hawai'i at Hilo, where he was the assistant men's and women's tennis coach, and was named the ITA division II West Region Men's Assistant Coach of the Year. Pollock also served as the Athletic Academic Services Counselor, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee & NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills  Coordinator as well as a kinesiology & exercise science lecturer at UH-Hilo.

Prior to his time at Hawai'i-Hilo Pollock was a tennis coach and practice partner at Hinsdale Tennis Association in Hinsdale, Illinois. At Hinsdale, he coached players ranked as high as No. 3 in the nation in USTA Under-18. Pollock also served as the assistant men's tennis coach at the University of Illinois-Chicago from 2007-2009, and as the tennis professional at Butterfield Country Club in Oak Brook, Ill.,from 2008-2009.

Pollock earned his B.A. in Health & Physical Education from Hawai'i-Hilo in 2007, and earned his master's in Kinesiology with a focus in applied exercise physiology from Illinois-Chicago in 2009.

Prior to beginning his coaching career, Pollock played tennis at Anderson College in South Carolina, and UH-Hilo. At Anderson College he helped lead his team to a No. 14 national ranking in NCAA division II, won the Carolina's-Virginia Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships, made an NCAA division II national championship appearance and was ranked as high as No. 6 in doubles in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

At Hawai'i-Hilo Pollock helped his team to Pacific West Conference regular season and tournament runner-up, and had a ranking as high as No. 9 in West Region singles and No. 3 in West Region doubles.
