The Idaho Vandals dominated the pool again Saturday with a 149.5- 93.5 Western Athletic Conference victory over the New Mexico State Aggies at the UI swim center.

"Having back-to-back victories this weekend is huge," coach Tom Jagar said.

Sophomore Paige Hunt broke the school record when she won the 1-meter dive with a score of 174.90.

"The divers are quality people turning into quality athletes," Jagar said "They're sticking with it and doing things well."

The Vandals won 11 of the 13 events in style with freshmen Shana Lim and Megan Venlos winning twice each - Lim in the 50 free and 200 back, and Venlos in the 100 and 200 free. Another freshman swam her way to victory with Sammi Mischkot winning the grueling 1650. Lim is off to swim at the Asian Games and returns after the Thanksgiving break.

Idaho's depth through the classes and events showed with senior Alyson O'Brien winning the 500 free, junior Calleagh Brown winning the 200 butterfly and sophomore Kelsie Saxe winning the 200 IM.

In addition to the nine individual races, the Vandals won both relays.

The Vandals are home again next week against Northern Arizona with a relay-based competition Thursday and a dual Saturday.
