University of Idaho senior Kayla Mortellaro fired a closing-round 69 to win the Cactus Tour stop at Whirlwind. Mortellaro won by one stroke over Russy Gulyanamitta, who fired a final-round 67 to close to within one of Mortellaro's 54-hole 209.

Mortellaro opened the tournament with a 71 before back-to-back 69s. She led from start to finish. She is a two-time Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year and the league's Freshman of the Year in 2009.
