Consistency was the name of Teo Poplawski’s game as she
opened the spring golf season with a tie for eighth at the annual UNLV Spring
Rebel Invitational at Cascata Golf Club.
Poplawski had rounds of 74-75-74 for a 54-hole total 223 –
seven-over par and five strokes back of the winning rounds of 218 by Arizona’s
Isabelle Boineau and Manon Gidali. Poplawski’s fellow senior, Kayla Mortellaro,
tied for 12th after hitting a rough patch on the back nine to finish
at 77 for the day and 224 for the tournament.
The Vandals were eighth overall with a team total 937.
Arizona won the tournament with an 872 with UNLV second (891) and San Diego
State third (905).
Also for the Vandals, Kaitlyn Oster tied for 46th
at 243 and Mary Sweeney and Rachel Choi were in a group tied for 55th
at 251.
