MOSCOW - It's the last week of the regular season, and the Idaho women's basketball team is playing for a spot in the top-half of the Western Athletic Conference with the WAC tournament just around the corner.

The Vandals host San Jose State on Thursday in the Cowan Spectrum at 6 p.m., and round out the regular season against Hawai'i in the Spectrum on March 3 (2 p.m.). A pair of wins, coupled with losses by SJSU and UH at second-place Utah State, will propel the Vandals to the No. 4 seed in the eight-team tournament that runs March 7-10 in the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.

Idaho beat both the Spartans and the Rainbow Wahine on the road earlier this month, and will look for its first regular season sweep of either team since the Vandals swept both in 2008-09.

Thursday's game is Idaho's Girls and Women in Sports night, celebrating 40 years of Title IX. All of Idaho's women's sports teams will be honored during a special halftime ceremony. Also, all girls ages 18 and under will get into the game for free, and the first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free "Vandal Women - PRIDE. TRADITION. EXCELLENCE." bracelet. There will also be an autograph-signing session with Vandal women student-athletes and coaches after the game.

Idaho dug itself out of a nine-point second half deficit on Feb. 4 in San Jose to beat the Spartans 67-63. In that game Idaho made a season-best 10 3-pointers and outrebounded the Spartans 41-36.

The Spartans have won back-to-back games entering the week and are coming off an upset win over Fresno State, handing the Bulldogs their only loss of the conference season. SJSU is led by Brittany Johnson, who leads the WAC with 19.7 points per game and adds 8.3 rebounds. Sara Plavljanin chips in with 13.6 points and 4.0 boards per game.

Fans can catch the game on the radio on 840 AM in the Moscow-Pullman area. A live web stream broadcast of the game can also be seen on VandalXtra, and live stats will be available free of charge on
