HB630 was signed in 2010 and is in effect from 2011-15.

It allows you to truly maximize your donation to the VSF.

Here's an example of how it works:


Married (filing jointly)   Single taxpayer
$2,000 gift $2,000
$500 Federal deduction $500 (estimated 25% federal tax bracket)
$156 State deduction $156 (estimated 7.8% Idaho tax rate)
$1,000 Idaho Education Tax Credit* $500
$344 True cost to you $844

* Note: A tax credit is a reduction to the actual tax you owe or an increase in your refund.
