Five University of Idaho women's golfers were honored as
All-American Scholars by the National Golf Coaches Association.
Graduating seniors Kayla Mortellaro, who leaves as one of
the most honored student-athletes in Vandal history, and Teo Poplawski are joined
in earning the recognition along with sophomore Rachel Choi, and freshmen Mary
Sweeney and Kaitlyn Oster.
“The five individuals honored are very deserving of this
award,” coach Lisa Johnson said. “Each managed her time well and was dedicated
to excelling both in the classroom and on the course. It's a pleasure to
coach such well-rounded and successful student-athletes.”
The NGCA team has some of the most stringent criteria among
scholar athlete teams. Each student-athlete must have a minimum 3.5 grade-point
average.
