Idaho Vandals
Connor Hill had a career night at Idaho State during the Vandals’ 75-69 Bracketbuster victory at Idaho State last Saturday. His 22 points were a career high as were his eight field goals made. He tied a career-best with six 3-point goals, which ties for third-best for a single game at Idaho. Kyle Barone had another double-double (14p, 11r) in helping lead the balanced attack that also featured a dominating rebounding effort by Idaho (45-23). Stephen Madison had 17 points and nine rebounds.

Vandals vs. Roadrunners

Idaho defeated UT-San Antonio, 74-70, at the Cowan Spectrum last month. Since then, the Vandals have gone 2-5 with last Saturday’s victory at Idaho State snapping a four-team skid. UTSA has won back-to-back games for the first time since November with victories at home over Nicholls State last Saturday and at Texas State on Feb. 16. The Roadrunners’ loss to Idaho in January was the beginning of a six-game skid.

A Look at Texas-San Antonio
The Roadrunners are 7-19 overall this season and 2-12 in the Western Athletic Conference. They are coming off a 76-58 victory over Nicholls State in their Bracketbuster game last Saturday.  Senior guard Kannon Burrage is UTSA’s scoring leader at 17.5 points per game, which is second in the WAC. As a team, the Roadrunners are second in the league with 7.7 3-point field goals made per game.

UTSA Head Coach Brooks Thompson
Brooks Thompson is in his seventh season at UTSA, where he holds a 103-110 record. He is 158-124 overall as a collegiate head coach. He led UTSA to a 2011 Southland Conference Tournament championship and a First Four victory in the NCAA Tournament. Before UTSA, he was an assistant at Arizona State from 2004-06 and head coach at Yavapai (Ariz.) College from 2002-04. As a player, he was a first-round pick in the 1994 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic.
