|No. 3 Idaho faces No. 6 SJSU|
LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Idaho women's basketball team will get the Western Athletic Conference tournament started with a matchup with San Jose State on Wednesday at 12 p.m.
The third-seeded Vandals went 11-7 in WAC play and 14-15 in the regular season overall, while SJSU went 11-18 overall and 8-10 in the WAC. Idaho swept the Spartans during the regular season with a pair of 17-point victories. San Jose State went 1-13 away from home this season.
The Vandals are 5-3 in their last eight games, and all three of those losses have come by two points. Idaho suffered back-to-back heartbreakers at UT Arlington and Louisiana Tech on Feb. 14 and 16, and are coming off a 55-53 defeat at WAC regular-season champion Seattle U on March 9.
The winner of Wednesday's game could face No. 2 Utah State, No. 7 Denver, or No. 10 Texas State. Texas State and Denver will square off on Tuesday, with the winner advancing to face Utah State on Wednesday. The winner of that game will face the winner of Idaho and San Jose State on Friday at 11 a.m. (PT).
