THE RECORDS
Idaho dropped to 1-8 after falling at home, 37-21, to Texas State last weekend, while Old Dominion is 6-3 after winning 66-14 at home over Rhode Island.
THE COACHES
Paul Petrino is in his first season at Idaho and his first as a head coach. While it is his first head coaching job, it is not Petrino’s first stint at Idaho. His coaching career began at Carroll College (his alma mater, 1989). From Carroll, he went to Idaho where he coached running back, receivers and special teams from 1992-94. From Idaho it was on to Utah State (1995-97), Louisville (1998-99), Southern Mississippi (2000-02), Louisville (2003-06), Atlanta Falcons (2007), Arkansas (2008-09), Illinois (2010-11) and Arkansas (2012).
BOBBY WILDER is in fifth season as head coach at Old Dominion. He graduated from the University of Maine, where he played quarterback from 1983-86. He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Boston College (1988-89). He coached at his alma mater from 1990-2006 with 1990-99 as the quarterbacks coach and 2000-06 as the offensive coordinator. He took over at Old Dominion in 2009 and is 44-13 with the Monarchs.
SENIOR DAY
Saturday’s game is Idaho’s 2013 home finale and Idaho will be recognizing its 17 seniors.
INDEPENDENCE
Idaho is playing the 2013 season as an FBS independent before rejoining the Sun Belt Conference in 2014. The Vandals have been independent previously – 1893-1907 and 1959-62. There are six other independent FBS programs – Army, BYU, Navy, New Mexico State,  Notre Dame and Old Dominion.
THE SERIES
This is the first game between Idaho and Old Dominion.
TELEVISION
There is no television for Saturday’s game.

SATURDAY SPECIALS AND EVENTS

  • Saturday’s game includes a reunion for the Vandal Athletics I-Club as well as the Spirit Competition for UI living groups.
  • Additionally, Pat Yarber – a legally blind football fan, wraps up his quest to visit every FBS stadium when he visits the Kibbie Dome Saturday.
  • It also is Palouse Appreciation Day. All residents of Latah and Whitman counties will receive a $5 discount on a general admission ticket. Just show your ID when you buy your ticket in-person or go online and enter the promo code ‘palouse.’ Tickets are for general admission seats only.
