|WBB Looks to Rebound Against UVU|
MOSCOW, Idaho—The Idaho women’s basketball team returns to Cowan Spectrum on Saturday, following its first conference loss of the season. The Vandals will take on Utah Valley in the team’s annual Hoops for Hope game.
Idaho (17-8, 10-1 WAC) is looking to rebound from its 79-60 loss to Bakersfield on Thursday. Junior Stacey Barr recorded her 14th career double-double with game-highs of 24 points and 12 rebounds. Senior Alyssa Charlston added 15 points and seven rebounds.
Utah Valley (4-19, 1-9 WAC) will visit Moscow for the first time since Dec. 8, 2005. Idaho scored a season-high 96 points back on January 16, to defeat UVU, 96-55. Stacey Barr paced the four Vandals in double figures with 21-points. Brooke Reilly recorded her first career double-double, finishing with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The Wolverines are coming off a 69-65 loss to Seattle U on Thursday. UVU climbed out of a 23-point hole and got within one during the final minutes. A trio finished in double digit scoring for UVU, led by a season-best 17 points from guard Georgia Agnew.
The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a Hoops for Hope pink t-shirt along with pink pom-poms. There will be a silent auction held with proceeds going towards the Gina Quesenberry and Light a Candle Foundations. In addition to the auction there will be a state-of-the-art mobile mammogram station at the game to help raise awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Game time is set for 2 p.m. PT.
