HONOLULU, Hawai`i - The University of Idaho women's golf team had a closing round 306 to climb into 10th during the final round of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at the Kaneohe Klipper.

Leilanie Kim was a model of consistency with 77s throughout the 54-hole event to finish in a tie for 28th at 231. Rachel Choi went 78-76-79 for a 233 and a tie for 36th, while Cassie McKinley was one stroke back at 234 in a tie for 40th. Kristin Strankman and Kaitlyn Oster matched 240s to tie for 60th. True freshman Amy Hasenoehrl was forced to withdraw from the tournament before the first round because of an injury.

"I was pleased with the improvement the team showed today in our final round," coach Lisa Johnson said. "Yesterday, we beat ourselves mentally. Today, we were more relaxed and rebounded more quickly after physical and mental mistakes."

Idaho's team total was a 934. Mississippi State won the title with an 875 with North Carolina State in second at 896.

Kennesaw State's Ines Lescudier was the medalist with a 216.
