Five Vandals earn all-WAC honors

Three University of Idaho football players earned first-team all-Western Athletic Conference recognition while another two were second-team choices.

Seniors Adam Korby, Eddie Williams and T.J. Conley are the first-team honorees, while junior Mike Iupati and senior Tino Amancio are on the second team.

Korby (Fort Collins, Colo.) climbs to the first team after earning second-team honors as a junior. He is a three-time member of the Rimington Watch List, which annual honors college football's top center. Korby started every game of his Vandal career ? a string that stretched to 47 and is a large part of his being the recipient of Idaho's Wayne Walker Ironman award for three consecutive seasons. He was a team captain as a junior and senior.

Williams (San Mateo, Calif.) was a key cog in Idaho's offense with roles as a receiver, blocker and runner. He led the Vandals with 54 receptions for 687 yards and six touchdowns, while adding 114 yards on 10 carries. Also a team captain, Williams wrapped up his Idaho career with 100 receptions for  1,205 yards and 19 carries for 195 yards to total 1,400 all-purpose yards.

Conley (Walla Walla, Wash.) is the nation's leading punter with only a handful of games remaining nationally. His 2008 average of 47.4 yards is an Idaho single-game record. He also set the Idaho all-time punting yardage record with 9,242 for his career and is second all-time with a career average of 42.1. In 2008, he averaged more than 50 yards in five games with an Idaho single-game record of 52.8 at Louisiana Tech. His 2008 yardage of 2,751 is fifth all-time.

Amancio (Fontana, Calif.) didn't miss a PAT during his three-year career at Idaho to become the first Vandal to achieve a perfect PAT mark (82 of 82). He ranks second all-time in career field goals attempted (48) and made (34). His career field goal percentage of 70.83 is the best all-time at Idaho.

Iupati (Anaheim, Calif.) missed the first part of the season after having shoulder season last spring but came back strong to play a major role on the Vandals' offensive front.
