2012 Outdoor: Klas earned a pair of All-WAC honors for Idaho in 2012 as a junior … qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary with a season-best pole vault mark of 17-0.75 (5.20m) at the Texas Relays on March 29, but did not compete because of injury … earned Second-Team All-WAC honors in the decathlon with a fourth-place finish and a score of 5,609 at the WAC Outdoor Championships in his first career outdoor multi-event … finished tied for fifth in the pole vault at the WAC Championships with a mark of 15-7 (4.75m) and earned another Second-Team honor … finished sixth in the vault at the Beach Invitational on April 21 after clearing 16-9.5 (5.12m) … Spring WAC All-Academic honoree.

2011 Indoor: Klas was a 2011 USTFCCCA Honorable Mention All-America honoree as a junior ... became the first Vandal man to qualify for consecutive NCAA Championship meets in the pole vault ... no-heighted at the NCAA Championships ... won his second-consecutive WAC indoor pole vault title after clearing 17-1 (5.21m) at the WAC Indoor Championships ... broke the Idaho school record and the meet record at the WSU Open II on Feb. 19, with a vault of 17-9 (5.41m) ... won the pole vault event at four of his six meets during the season ... finished the year tied with the fifth-best vault in the NCAA ... 2011 Capital One Second-Team Academic All-District VIII honoree

2010 Indoor: Klas became the first Vandal man to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the pole vault, then went on to become Idaho's first indoor All-American in the event. He cleared 17-2.75 (5.25m) and tied for ninth in his first national meet. One week earlier, Klas shattered the school record in the vault with a clearance of 17-7.75 (5.38m) at the Husky Last Chance Qualifier. Klas won the WAC title with a height of 17-1.75 (5.23m). He opened the season by breaking the 25-year-old previous record in the pole vault and went up from there. He earned WAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Jan. 11-17.

2010 Outdoor: Klas made it an indoor-outdoor double in 2010 as he won the WAC title and qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships. He had an outdoor best of 17-2.75 (5.25m) at the NCAA West Preliminary to break the school record and clinch Idaho's first spot in the NCAA men's pole vault since 1952, where he finished 16th. He cleared 16-8.25 (5.09m) to win his first career outdoor WAC title and keep Idaho's streak of six-straight men's pole vault titles alive. He was honored twice as the Men's Field Athlete of the Week during the outdoor season. He was honored at the end of the season as an ESPN the Magazine second-team Academic All-District honoree.

Personal: He is the son of Dean and Roxanne Klas. He was born Sep. 5, 1989 at Orlando, Fla. He has one sister. He is majoring in Computer Science at Idaho.
