The University of Idaho Athletics Department has sponsored collegiate athletics for more than 100 years. During this period, countless student-athletes, coaches and staff have constructed a rich history of athletic competition and academic accomplishment. It is the responsibility of current and future department members to continue this storied legacy. Academic achievement, athletic success and personal development are the constructs of Vandal Pride and Tradition.

Pride
Vandal Pride is a celebrated attitude, feeling and mentality. Parties associated with the University of Idaho Athletics Department are proud of the Vandal Tradition and believe in the overarching goal of a Commitment to Excellence.

Commitment to Excellence
All personnel in the University of Idaho Athletics Department, including student-athletes, coaches, administrative professionals and support staff, are committed to achieving Excellence. Working to achieve optimal outcomes in all situations is a fundamental belief. This attitude is reiterated daily through activities and behavior, helping to develop Pride. Maintaining a Customer Focus and ensuring the demands and needs of all athletic, university and social entities are met is a long-standing Tradition at the University of Idaho Athletics Department.

Customer Focus
It is the pledge of the University of Idaho Athletics Department to retain the Tradition of serving all customers in the most effective way possible. A Customer-Focused mindset instills the ideals of progress and a Commitment to Excellence throughout the university and community.
