|Women's tennis earns top-10 nod|
MOSCOW, Idaho -- For the second year in a row, the Idaho women's tennis team earned a top-10 regional ranking in the ITA's final rankings, as the Vandals checked in at No. 10 in the Mountain Region.
Idaho finished with a 17-8 overall record in 2011, and earned the No. 4 seed in the Western Athletic Conference tournament with a 4-2 mark in WAC play.
"I'm very happy for our team," Idaho coach Tyler Neill said. "I thought we had a very solid season and it is nice to be recognized in the rankings. This is the second straight year we finished in the top ten in the region which is a testament to the program we have developed here. We have won consistently and that is being represented in the rankings."
Idaho's 20-6 record in the 2010 season earned the Vandals a No. 10 regional finish as well.
Boise State (No. 3), Nevada (No. 5) and New Mexico State (No. 7) also represent the WAC in the Mountain Region top 10.
The ITA Mountain Region consists of schools located in New Mexico, Arizona (not including the University of Arizona), Utah, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana.
