MOSCOW - The Idaho volleyball team continued its spring schedule Saturday as it hosted Gonzaga, Eastern Washington and Washington State in Memorial Gym.
The Vandals got things started with 2-0 wins over Gonzaga and Eastern Washington, before falling in two sets with a 31-29 second-set loss to Washington State to wrap up the day.
"We're making progress," Idaho coach Debbie Buchanan said of her team. "We're better than what we have been. We played steadier today than we did last weekend for sure."
The Vandals are four weeks in to their spring season, and Saturday was the team's second competition date after playing at Washington State last weekend. Idaho has two weeks left of spring practices, and will play a tournament at Gonzaga next weekend before wrapping up the spring slate with a match against Washington State in Pullman, Wash., on April 28.
"We've got to keep pressuring them in practice," Buchanan said. "We have to work on some ball-control things. If we can do that, I think the offensive side is going to come."
