PALO ALTO, Calif. - University of Idaho senior Jarred Bossio is tied for 17th after the opening round of the NCAA Regional at Stanford University.

Bossio shot a one-under 69 on the 6,727-yard, par-70 course and is three strokes back of first-round leaders Sang Yi of Louisiana State and Zachary Blair of Brigham Young, who matched 66s to open the three-day event.

Bossio had birdies on the 539-yard, par-5 seventh; the 365-yard, par-4 ninth; the 185-yard, par-3 17th, and the 457-yard, par-4 18th.
