|Hasenoehrl signs with Vandals|
MOSCOW, Idaho – Amy Hasenoehrl won’t have to move far when she heads off to college. For Hasenoehrl, it’s just 30 miles from Lewiston to Moscow and the University of Idaho where she becomes the newest member of the Vandal women’s golf team with her signing of a National Letter of Intent Wednesday.
“Amy’s work ethic and competitiveness have been the key factors in her steady climb up the leaderboard in recent years,” Idaho coach Lisa Johnson said. “Last summer, she gained valuable experience representing Idaho in national tournaments.”
Hasenoehrl is the reigning Idaho 5A medalist, an achievement that enabled the Bengals to capture the 2012 team title as well. She also won the 2012 Idaho Golf Association Junior State Championship and represented Idaho on the 2012 Girls Junior America’s Cup team. After her sophomore year in high school, she won the 2011 Future Collegians World TPC of Las Vegas.
“We are thrilled that Amy decided to continue to represent Idaho at the college level,” Johnson said. “She is a delightful person, an excellent student, and driven beyond belief. She has big goals for herself and the team, and we are very excited to help her achieve them.
“Her desire to succeed will be evident to everyone the minute she steps on campus. She will instantly meld well with the current team. It will be fun to watch her continue to improve this year (at Lewiston High School) and as a Vandal.”
