AUSTIN, Texas – Big meet experience and solid times continue
to come the way of the five-swimmer contingent of Vandals at the AT&T
Winter Nationals Meet, which began Thursday and concludes Saturday.
Sophomore Rachel Millet just missed the final in the 200
freestyle, where she finished 29th in 1:49.23. Also for the Vandals,
senior Kelsie Saxe had a 1:05.01 in the 100 breaststroke to finish just ahead
of teammate Laura Griffing, a sophomore, who was clocked in 1:05.10.
“Overall, we had a really solid morning,” coach Mark Sowa
said. “We learned a lot. This is good experience for these Vandals and I expect
we will race well tomorrow.”
The meet annually brings together the nation’s elite
swimmers – a mix of Olympians as well as top collegians.
