The Idaho women's basketball team will get a chance to avenge its loss in the Western Athletic Conference opener when it visits WAC-leading Seattle U in the regular season finale for both teams on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Idaho nearly overcame a season-high 31 turnovers in that game on Dec. 29, as the Vandals led 71-69 with 40 seconds to play before a 3-point play in the final minute gave the Redhawks the lead and they closed out the game on a 7-0 run to take a 76-71 win.

The Vandals shot a season-high 53 percent from the field in that game and out-rebounded the Redhawks 37-28.

That loss dropped Idaho to 3-9 on the season, but since then the Vandals have battled back to a 14-14 overall record and locked up the No. 3 seed in next week's WAC tournament. Seattle U is 17-9 overall and 14-3 in the WAC.

The Vandals are led by 14.2 points and 7.5 rebounds per game from junior Alyssa Charlston. Freshman Christina Salvatore, Idaho's single-season 3-point record holder, averages 11.4 points and 5.3 boards per game. The Vandals average 8.2 3-pointers per game, the ninth most in NCAA Division I.

Seattle leads the WAC with a 42.1 field goal percentage, but allows its opponents to shoot 39.8 percent from the field. The Redhawks have won six straight games entering Saturday, including a pair of two-point wins over UTSA and Texas State last week. Kacie Sowell averages 16.8 points and 9.6 rebounds to lead the Redhawks, while Sylvia Shephard averages 13.7 points and Ashley Ward adds 13.0 per game.

Saturday's will be available on the radio in the Palouse on KMAX 840 AM. Fans can also follow live stats on and access a live video stream on VandalXtra, through
