NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Association honored Idaho’s Hannah Kiser as an All-American on Monday following her performance at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Kiser, a junior from Wenatchee, Wash, (Wenatchee HS) was selected as a First Team All-American. Last season, as a sophomore, she received a Second Team-All American honor following her performance.

Kiser placed fifth in the 3000m with a time of 9:07.72 at the NCAA meet Saturday to earn her All-American honor.

During the Indoor season, Kiser beat her previous Western Athletic Conference and the Idaho school record in the women’s 3000m with a time of 9:04.23. She also claimed the WAC and Idaho record in the women’s mile posting a time of 4:37.55. Kiser is the first Vandal woman to earn a First Team All-American honor, since Dee Olson’s third-place finish in the mile run in 2006. She is the only WAC woman who was honored by the USTFCCCA.

Since 1995, the Idaho track and field program has had at least one individual earn an All-American honor.

First-Team All American honors are awarded by USTFCCCA to individuals who placed in the top eight of their event, while those who finished between ninth and 16th receive Second-Team honors. Others who participated and placed outside the top 16 receive Honorable Mention honors.
