Wind hampers Wyoming tournament

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – A blustery first day proved difficult at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic at Talking Stick-North Course. Not only did scores soar but the tournament was reduced to 36 holes from the standard 54 after cancellation of Monday’s second 18.

Wichita State is the 18-hole leader at 295 with the University of Idaho tied for 17th at 312. Sean McMullen and Zach Wanderscheid had 76s to tie for 27th with Aaron Cockerill tied for 27th at 77, Dylan Baker tied for 104th at 83, and Gordon Webb tied for 116th at 85.

Gonzaga is second at 299 followed by Arizona (301), Kansas State (303), Old Dominion (304) and Tulsa (305).

The final round is Tuesday.
