It was a busy weekend for some former Vandals with hurdler Angela Whyte winning the 100-meter event at the Canadian National Championships and former Vandal weightman Russ Winter taking second in the discus at the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships.

Whyte, a Vandal Athletics Hall of Famer and assistant coach at Idaho, won the 100 hurdles in 12.90 seconds. Another former Vandal, Christie Gordon, was third in 13.38

At the U.S. meet, Winger's throw fo 203 feet, 6 inches earned him second behind champion Lance Brooks' 204-4.

Also at the Canadian meet, current Vandal Ben Ayesu-Attah was second in the 400 meters with a 47.20. Philip Osei won the event with a 46.47. In the 1500 meters, former Vandal Erica Digby was seventh in 4:24.02, and in the 5000 meters Stephane Cole was seventh in 14.27.75 and Barry Britt was 11th in 14:33.62.
