du Toit ties for fifth

PULLMAN, Wash. – Jared du Toit turned in an eagle-3 to finish his first collegiate golf tournament with a trio of 69s and a tied for fifth at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate at Palouse Ridge Golf Course.

Du Toit’s three-under 207 for the 54 holes helped Idaho to a fourth-place finish with a team total 847. Host Washington State won the tournament with an 836 with Cal State Fullerton second at 837 and Sacramento State third at 842.

In addition to du Toit’s strong tournament, Sean McMullen tied for 13th (210), Aaron Cockerill tied for 25th (215), Rylee Iacolucci tied for 27th (216),  Scott Riley tied for 34th (218), Chris Wilson tied for 58th (224), and Garrett Howard (227) finished 72.

Du Toit finished the tournament with one eagle, one double bogey, nine birdies and six bogeys. McMullen turned in an even-par 210 after rounds of 72-71-67, which includes three birdies in his final round.
