MOSOW, Idaho -- The Idaho volleyball will take its season-best four-match winning streak into its regular season finale on Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. (PT) at Grand Canyon, where the Vandals will also play in next week’s Western Athletic Conference tournament.

Idaho is 17-10 overall and 10-5 in the WAC after its four consecutive WAC wins, including two over WAC tournament qualifiers Seattle U and Kansas City. Grand Canyon enters the week at 10-17 overall and 4-10 in WAC play.

When the Vandals and Lopes met in Moscow on Sept. 30, Idaho came away with a somewhat deceiving 3-0 victory in which Idaho won two of the three sets by just two points. Jessica Hastriter paced Idaho with 15 kills and Meredith Coba had 38 assists (12.7 per set) in that match for Idaho.

The Vandals have locked up at least the No. 4 seed in next week’s WAC tournament (Nov. 25-27), but can climb into the No. 3 spot with a win and a little help. An Idaho win over Grand Canyon on Thursday combined with a Bakersfield loss at Texas-Pan American and a New Mexico State win over Utah Valley would propel the Vandals into the No. 3 seed.

While all but the top seed - which New Mexico State clinched last week - are still to be determined, the six-team field for the WAC tournament is already set. Behind the Aggies are Bakersfield, Utah Valley and Idaho, battling for positions 2-4, followed by Kansas City and Seattle U, fighting for the No. 5 spot. Idaho went 5-5 in the regular season against WAC tournament qualifying teams.
