MOSCOW, Idaho—Idaho women’s basketball returns to Memorial Gym on Wednesday. The Vandals welcome in Lewis-Clark State. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m. PT.
The Vandals return home after a 2-1 week, featuring wins over Carroll College and Appalachian State. The Vandals only loss was by three points at Montana.
“Tomorrow night is going to be a big game for us,” head coach Jon Newlee said. “They are an extremely talented team at 13-0. They are one of the top ranked NAIA teams in the country. Brian Orr does a fantastic job with his team down there. They can really shoot the basketball. They play extremely hard.”
Idaho and Lewis-Clark State have met a total of 18 times since 1977. Idaho holds a decisive 14-4 series lead. The teams have not met in a regular season match up since Dec. 15, 2000. The Warriors defeated the Vandals, 90-71. The teams opened the 2010-11 season with an exhibition game. Idaho won the exhibition 73-58. Alyssa Charlston led the team with 15 points and six rebounds.
Freshman Karlee Wilson will have the chance to matchup against a few familiar faces. The Lewiston High School graduate, played her high school games only a few minutes away from LSCS. Wilson is averaging 14.1 minutes a game in her freshman season. She has 34 points, 17 rebounds and 14 assists through Idaho’s first 10 games.
