SACRAMENTO, Calif. – If Tuesday’s result was any indication, the Idaho men’s tennis team is bound for success when it enters the Big Sky Conference next season. The Vandals visited five-time defending Big Sky champion Sacramento State and left with a 4-1 victory.

“It is nice to get a win and at this point all we can do is build off the positives,” Idaho coach Jeff Beaman said. “The guys carried their strong doubles from yesterday and put a more consistent effort across the board in singles.”

The Vandals picked up doubles wins at the top two positions and clinched the victory with singles wins at Nos. 1, 4 and 5 to clinch the match victory.

Idaho improves to 6-9 on the season with the win, and continue play on Mar. 28 against Seattle U. Sacramento State has won the Big Sky championship every year since 2009.
