Vandals outmatched at Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. – Jose Bendeck earned a straight-set singles victory but the Idaho men’s tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss at Portland on Monday.

Bendeck and Artemiy Nikitin won 8-5 at No. 1 doubles but the Pilots had already clinched the doubles point with wins at Nos. 2 and 3. Portland took straight set singles wins at Nos. 1, 3, 4 , 5 and 6 to secure its 10th win of the season, improving to 10-4. Idaho drops to 7-11 on the season with the loss.

The Vandals have more than a week off before traveling to Boise, Idaho, to face Boise State on April 11 and UC Irvine on April 12.
