YORBA LINDA, Calif. - University of Idaho junior Kaitlyn Oster had a 10-over 226 to finish in a tie for ninth at the Gold Rush presented by Farmers Insurance at the Yorba Linda Country Club.

As a team, the Vandals were ninth while playing without leading scorer Leilanie Kim, who missed the tournament because of illness.

"Kaitlyn had a solid performance this week," said coach Lisa Johnson, whose team played in its last regular-season tournament with the Western Athletic Conference Championships up next (April 25-27). "She's shown tremendous growth in her mental game this semester."

Johnson said Kim's absence was felt throughout the tournament. Idaho shot a collective 949 with a 235 from Kristin Strankman (tied for 27th), a 239 from Amy Hasenoehrl (tied for 34th) and a 249 from Rachel Choi (55th).

Gonzaga, led by medalist Alice Kim (one-under 215), won the team title with an 893.
