MOSCOW -- The Idaho volleyball team will open the season with the Idaho Nike Invitational as it hosts Pacific, Montana and Washington State on Aug. 24 and 25. The tournament is Idaho's first at home since 2008.

The Vandals will open against Pacific, which went 18-12 in 2011 and finishing fourth in the Big West. The Tigers return five starters and eight letter-winners overall from last year's team. Pacific leads the all-time series 14-3 and won the last meeting 3-0 in 2010.

Next up for Idaho is Montana. The Grizzlies were 11-13 in 2011 and went 8-8 in the Big Sky, finishing fifth in the league. Idaho holds a slim 25-24 advantage in the all-time series and swept Montana in 2011.

The Vandals will close out the tournament with border rival Washington State. The cougars posted a 12-20 record under first-year head coach Jen Greeny in 2011, and finished 11th in the PAC-12. WSU owns a 39-20-2 all-time record against Idaho, but the Vandals won the last meeting 3-0 in 2010.
