After averaging 14.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.0 3-pointers made per game in Idaho's two wins last week, Vandal freshman women's basketball player Christina Salvatore was selected by College Sports Madness as the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
Salvatore hit 8-of-19 3-pointers (42.1 percent), including six against UC Irvine, the second most by a Vandal player in program history. She also had four assists, a block and a steal in two games.
Salvatore's 3.0 3-pointers per game for the season rank 16th in NCAA Division I, and her 35.1 3-point field goal percentage ranks 97th. As a team, the Vandals rank 10th in the nation and first in the WAC with 8.2 3-pointers made per game.
The Vandals return to action on Dec. 16 when they visit Washington.
