|WAC honors Kiser|
MOSCOW, Idaho – The Western Athletic Conference recognized University of Idaho track and field athlete Hannah Kiser on Wednesday as its Women’s WAC Track Athlete of the Week for her performance the week of Jan. 28-Feb. 3.
Kiser, a junior from Wenatchee, Wash. (Wenatchee HS), posted a conference-leading time of 4:45.01 in the women’s mile run on Friday at the Vandal Indoor, presented by Runners Soul of Spokane. The third-year Vandal has the fastest time in the conference this year by a seven-second margin. Her time also ranks 37th in the NCAA so far this season.
This honor is Kiser’s first this season and the fifth of her career. She is the second Vandal to be so honored this season after Idaho sophomore Ben Ayesu-Attah won the men’s Track Athlete of the Week honor last week.
Kiser and the Vandals will be in action this weekend on Friday and Saturday at the Husky Classic and on Sunday at the UW Indoor Open. Friday’s action starts at 4 p.m. (PT) and Saturday gets going at 8 a.m. Sunday’s meet will start at 9 a.m.
