|Kim ties for 41st|
SAN JOSE, Calif. - Leilanie Kim had her low round of the tournament with a closing 74 as the University of Idaho women's golf team finished 12th at the annual Julie Inkster Spartan Invitational with a 54-hole total 939.
Kim, who opened with rounds of 83-77, finished with a total 234 to tie for 41st. While she finished strong, scores elsewhere crept up. Kristin Strankman tied for 45th after an 81 Tuesday to go with 75-79 during Monday's opening rounds. Strankman's 54-hole total of 235 was two strokes better than the 237 by teammate Kaitlyn Oster, who went 78-79-80 through the event, to tie for 49th.
Rounding out the scoring, were Rachel Choi, who was 60th after rounds of 79-79-82 for a 240, while Cassie McKinley tied for 66th after firing an 80 Tuesday to go with a 78-88 from Monday. She was at 246.
Still, coach Lisa Johnson said there are positives.
"This team gives 100 percent every time we step on the course and I am confident this will convert into lower scores in the near future," Johnson said. "We still made too many mistakes on and around the green."
