FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The University of Idaho women's golf team turned in a strong first-day performance despite two weather delays - including one that halted play midway through the second round Monday afternoon.

Leilanie Kim is tied for seventh after opening the tournament with a 72. Rachel Choi, who had an eagle after the first weather delay, had a 74 and was tied for 18th after her first 18 holes. Cassie McKinley fired a 78 and is tied for 35th, Kristin Strankman is tied for 67th at 84, and Kaitlyn Oster is 81st after opening with an 83.

The Vandals are seventh after a 307 during their first round and have four or five holes remaining in their second rounds.

"I'm extremely pleased with how the team rebounded from the delay," coach Lisa Johnson said. "Leilanie played great and is going to try to make a run at winning this tournament tomorrow.

"I'm excited for tomorrow. I'm really pleased with how we started the year."
