“We certainly expect a hard fought game,” head coach Pete Showler said. “They are physical, strong and play with a lot of passion. We will need to counter act that.”

Idaho’s tough road to open the season came to a close last week with matches at North Dakota State and Creighton. Another 2013 newcomer, Alyssa Pease, got the lone goal for the Vandals on Sunday.

“Hopefully we can get the crowd on our side,” Showler commented. “We want to see a big crowd here and support us in what we are doing and show these youngsters what the Vanda Pride is all about.”

Eastern Washington has had a very similar start to its 2013 season. Entering Friday’s match with an equal 0-5-0 record, the Eagles been outscored 2-9 this season. In last season’s matchup the Eagles earned a 2-0 victory in Cheney. All-time Idaho has a grasp on the series, 10-6, since first meeting on the pitch in 1999.

UNLV (4-1-1) enters Sunday’s matchup with Idaho leading the series 2-0. This is the first trip to Moscow for the Rebels. Last season they defeated Idaho in a tough 1-0 battle. UNLV is coming off a 0-0 tie against Northern Arizona last week. Prior to Sunday’s game the Rebels will go up against Washington State on Friday.
